Wow! This stunning couple ended my triple threat weekend and boy did it go out in a bang! Shanna and Ryan are SO much fun to be around! I can’t say enough nice things about them! They are driven, passionate and very much in love! This CPA/Doctor pair are nothing short of perfection! They also modeled in the glamorous styled shoot in DC. They are a dream to photograph. The hazy summer sunrise, deserted dock, cobblestone streets and flower garden added to this session! Old Town Alexandria is gorgeous but this couple really made the town shine!
Ryan purchased the diamond solitaire ring, asked Shanna’s parents for their blessing and waited for the perfect moment. They traveled to Texas to see her family. Ryan had a plan and was ready…. Shanna didn’t get the memo! She went off to the salon with her mom and Ryan missed his anticipated opportunity. He waited again! Back on the east coast, they resumed to their normal day-to-day. They went to work, ate out, studied in school, and watched movies with friends. After a typical night in with friends laughing over the latest youtube sensations, Ryan finally had Shanna all to himself. He showed her one last video online…. the story of them! She was shocked to see herself on the computer screen. Ryan got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. Such a sweet and intimate proposal!
Shanna and Ryan, It was such a pleasure spending the morning with you both! I’m so thankful to have had the chance to capture your beautiful love!
Meet the future Mr. & Mrs. Jones!
This past weekend was filled with three STUNNING sessions! It was a bit crazy at times but I can’t complain! Every day was full of fun and sweet moments.I was expecting to be exhausted at the end…. instead I am now energized and inspired more than ever by my couples! The love was contagious… and apparently so was the glitter! Days later I am still finding sparkles in my hair!
The styled shoot was a blast! I am so thankful for the wedding professionals that helped bring my vision to life! (Did you see our inspiration?) Every single vendor involved went above and beyond. The shoot was meant to capture the sophisticated city style of Kate Spade. We mixed in preppy elements of stripes and bows. The look was complete was pops of emerald, the color of the year. The goal was to reflect a timeless bride with bold elements. I think the end results embodies the MCP style perfectly!
Here is a sneak peak of the glam we created on Saturday! I can’t wait to share the rest! There is much more goodness coming!

Sunday is Bastille Day…. aka another excuse to celebrate! I studied aboard in college and spent an amazing summer in Paris. I miss this city! The lights, history, art, romance, style, and chic vibe! I have been eager to share this love with my fans! J’adore Paris!
There is no other way to feel Parisian than to head to DC’s Sofitel Hotel with the area’s leading wedding vendors tomorrow. This dream team has something VERY special in the works! Prepare for a glamorous styled shoot to hit the blog soon! We will mix in sparkles, stripes and a good looking couple… of course! I can’t wait to share what we create! It’s going to be a whirlwind weekend for MCP! Get ready!
Monday is always bittersweet! Today is especially hard coming back to reality after a week on Hilton Head Island! We had a blast soaking up the sun and sand. This place is becoming a family tradition and I love it! The southern hospitality and pace of life is mixed with great food and fun times… what isn’t there to love? The boys enjoyed their golf while the ladies got tans on the beach! We rode our bikes to a coffee shop in the mornings and ate way too much food every night! It was a perfect week! Let’s hope my tan lasts longer than my trip!
As usual, here are some tid bits from our week at the beach:
-Gators! I saw tons of them near the golf courses but was too chicken to take picture! I saw Happy Gilmore and didn’t like my odds!
-Palm trees + Spanish moss = A photographer’s dream in South Carolina! I really want to capture a couple in this setting! Please take me back to paradise!
-I didn’t get a single bug bite! My mom always said I would get eaten alive because I was SO sweet…. I must be getting cranky in my old age?
-Bookworm status! My favorite part of beach vacations is reading! I was able to knock out two books in five days. Boy did that make me happy!
-Instagram was filled with pictures of the obligatory fireworks in the air and feet in the sand pictures…. I should get a medal for resisting these standard shots!
-My parents (and roommates this past week) are incredibily generous! I am very lucky that they included Chris and I on their getaway. We can’t say THANK YOU enough! We cherish these trips together and look forward to them year after year!
